Everyone, get in here!
"So there's been some talk about this. Yes, I have been deleting some topics with pictures of new guns. This was done because Hasbro contacted me asking me to take them down. So I did. They've offered to send me information on the new stuff as it's available. So no more of that. Don't post new stuff, I'll post the official stuff from Hasbro. This topic will be locked because it's not open for discussion. This is just the way it is from now on."

'Small' Ball Blaster / Recon Mod
I have wanted to do this ever since a Ball Blaster fell into my hands (No sexual innuendo intended).
Thanks to the rail system, realizing this project was a lot easier:
AR removal, larger magazine, customized stock and a grenade launcher.

- Phaser Finder -
Allright, where do I start...
I was cleaning my cellar a few weeks ago, throwing away old things I obviously didn't have any use for anymore. Under those things, was this:
An Art Asylun Enterprise Phase Pistol. I bought that thing quite some time ago, and they are hard to get nowadays.
Mostly because Art Asylum had closed it's doors very fast, like many Toy Companys that were great at executing ideas to their fullest (e.g. Trendmasters).
The Phase Pistol has such an awesome Ray-Gun-Retro-Vibe going with it. I never got myself to buy one of the oldskool Trek Phasers, but this one was an exception back then.
Since I obviously didn't want to give or throw it away, I came up with a cunning plan: + = After a little toying around in Paint. net,... ...then moving onto the Layout,......lots of hot glue and a paintjob later I was done!
It get's decent ranges around ~60 min to a ~70 max, and if it weren't for my modded Recon, it would be my secondary.
Even though I had to make some small design sacrifices that don't add up to the ones I tuck together in paint, none of them I regret.

Sup and a few mod questions
So I've just found the world of Nerf mods and really want to dive right in and try my hands at this fun past time.
Anyway I wanted some advice on what paints and sandpaper grit to use on my Mav mod. And what clear coat I should look at.
I looked at the mods site and many of the links are dead/down.
So hi and nice to be here ^_^ Current Mood: chipper

Small, comfortable, too bad you have to buy them in a six pack.
And you can only get them at Toys-R-Us (or a reseller).
Removing the air-restriction bits is fairly easy.
I bought them for a costume that never got made.

We are maybe 5 years behind, but catching up.
Leading group in mods in Holland is Nerf-Ops. We mod everything dropped in our hands, inside and outside, and that's a hit in this small country...( our beloved diskshotCollapse )
we are to be found on www.nerf-ops.nl (if you can understand Dutch) and I'll be posting some things here every now and then.

This is actually kind of old, but I forgot to post it here. I'm sure by now you've all seen the double shot( Repainted!Collapse )
and I also just got the Vulcan. (It is quite possibly the greatest thing ever. Ever
) I'm more of a re-painting person than I am a modder, so I'll probably just end up painting it until there are some decent tutorials on the internet for modding.
Anyways, hope you like! Current Mood: excited

Nerf Vulcan lowdown
Okay, here's the deal. The Nerf Vulcan exceeds all expectations.
Ranges: 30-40 feet unmodded, on single fire and automatic.
Rate of fire: 2-3 shots per second on fresh batteries.
Ammunition: Belts of 25 darts that can be connected to each other with a few minutes work.
Includes: Removable tripod, removable ammo hopper.
The 'Value pack' includes another ammo chain, 25 more darts, and a shoulder strap in addition to the above.
Requires 6 D-cell batteries.
The internals are complicated, but with photo references, it should be relatively easy to remove the gun's air restricter, boosting range by ten feet or so. Here's the forum thread with the first look inside the Vulcan. http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12391
If you'd prefer the gun to be smaller, the front of the gun can be removed by unscrewing a screw or two. Word is though, the gun is uncomfortable to hold without that front handle. The grip is a bit too small for adult male hands. The trigger is too big for one finger, slightly too small for two.
At the Hasbro website, http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByCategory.htm?CD=121&BR=582&ST=SO&ID=22379&PG=1
you can order the Vulcan, and it is being shipped now. Someone has already received theirs, after ordering this past Tuesday. You can get free shipping (if your order exceeds 50 bucks) by using the code SUMFS at checkout. If you wait a few more days, the refill packs for the Vulcan should become available, giving you an easy way to get up to the 50 dollar mark. You can always use more darts, after all!
This will be my last post about the Vulcan until I get my hands on my own. :K)

Nerf in the Netherlands
LARP.nl is making deals with Nerf to get the guns in Europe. The Toystores here just don't want to sell them, for they fear lack of popularity. LARP.nl is a company that deals in larp-stuff, and with a cyberlive coming up this fall, the demand for grown-ups in Nerf has increased.
LARP.NL has a contract, they can start shipping the Dutchies special Demands.
One Toystore is now finally trying Nerf. Just one cute little gun: the crossfire
. For my slender hands (I'm a chick), this thing is perfect. It took us a few minutes to mod the blue one, but the red looks like it was manufactured with slight differences. The red is sturdy when you charge it, the spring makes an awful noise and it feels squeaky.
Nevertheless, we made the bloody minis go from 5 meters to 10 meters (we do meters over here) with just the usual remove the pin on the barrel (yet again, the blue one just came off and the red one.. well it was frustrating), stretching the spring and two 10 eurocents coins behind the spring in the barrel.
Now we are closing the holes in the barrels (the bastards made holes in the barrels to kill airpressure) and we want to replace the soggy rubber ring, for it is a useless thing (I already moved it in the front slot, and somehow that worked better.
I will post the outside makeovers here.
Question: Anyone here noticed the difference between several crossfires? Are they making them harder to mod?

Big Bad Bow [Mod]
All I actually did was to add a buttstock and a rubber band to get a little more range out of this thing, but it's neat anyway.

Has anyone done anything with the buzzbee toy line?
They have that double shotgun, level action rifle, and a fecking tommy gun
I got the shotgun but gave it to my nephew because he was pretty much humping my leg about it every other day. He got the level action as soon as it came out. Im debating getting the tommy gun.

Direct Threat's painted Longshot
Did anyone else see this on the Nerfhaven forums? Goddamn...
I need to get back to work on mine. If you're on the forums, I encourage you go to the modification thread and comment on that. That guy deserves some MAD props.
